Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and Onlays are a porcelain, lab fabricated hybrid between a filling and a crown. When a tooth breaks or has a large defective filling creating a situation in which not enough good tooth structure remains to support an even larger filling but leaves enough good tooth structure that it does not require grinding away the remaining tooth for a crown, an inlay or onlay is the perfect solution. They are tooth colored, made of porcelain, bond to the tooth, but preserve the surrounding natural tooth that would typically be destroyed if a crown was made.
